The solitary black and white sequence in the film:
Sequence 3 - Alleyway Shooting
Is designed around a film noir killing. Consequently it required a particular style of animation and skill to bring the storyboards to life.
With over ten years experience, and twenty-five awards, working for such companies as the BBC and HBO, the animator John C Hedley was an artist the production were very keen to secure for this sequence.
Upon reading the script, and seeing some early pre-visualizations, he signed on to become the film's first recruited animator.
Developing the film noir sequence over a few short months, John finalised the shot from his studio in the UK.
The end result became one of the defining stylistic shots of the film.
John C Hedley delivers stunning results, and is always on schedule. He currently resides in Manchester.
